Viewing my graphics & banners
I need to know how other's view my journal. All my photos & graphics I size at 10
inches across, which includes the banners I use on here. If this is
messing up your AOL page/windows while viewing this page, let me
know. I will then reduce all my graphics including My PHOTOGRAPHS & MEMORIES Journal.
I use a MAC computer(I also use Firefox), so what I see is different then what you see. My
sidebar is narrow, so I need graphics that fit @ 1.5 inches, no larger. I
view everyone sidebar with cut off images. So if there is a problem,
please leave a comment, then I will adjust. Thanks~

i'm not having any problems with your graphics.

The banners are not a problem as far as I can tell...
Your banners look fine on your journal but when I save them and use them on my journal they are too wide then I have to scroll across my journal to read my journal. If you object to me reducing them then please let me know.
Thanks, Helen
I have to scroll to view it all but then I added large photos to Timesless because the detail shows up much better.I did re-size your graphic for my journal though.Hope that is okay.

It's fine...slightly big, but fine. I just move my screen over a little and it all fits.
Nancy
Your banners are a little large. I have to scroll.

You have to scan down the page, past the sidebar. I have been resizing...I hope you don't mind :).

When I added the banner to my page to do the Photo Challenge it made the page wide, even after going back to edit and reducing the size! I finally removed it this morning. I've just gone back to your journal, copied and pasted the banner onto an email and clicked resize. Then I pasted it back into my journal It's now OK and doesn't make my page wide! Hope it's OK to do that, it really irritates me to have to scroll across my journal! Jeannette xx
I have no problems with your journal, Marie. I use Firefox.
the banner for the aged challenge works just fine for my computer at home. In fact, there is some extra room on the sides. however, on my computer at work (in the car, low res screen) it causes some viewing problems.

I haven't had any problems with anything being too large.

They are always really big on my computer. I have noticed it's like that on a lot of journals these days. I've brought up the challenge journal at work where I have a flat screen, it appears perfectly on that. At home I have an old monitor and it appears huge. It's not really a problem though, I just click on permalink to be able to read without scrolling across.

Marie, I have a wide screen on my desktop at home and have no problem viewing your graphics and banners. On my laptop, all I have to do is widen the browser window within AOL and it's fine. So...no problems here.

I run 1024x768 on most of my network's monitors, 24/32 bit color. Monitors typically are 17"-19" diagonal. I usually use Firefox or IE for browsing, tho' I do have some odd-ball browsers for quick work. Color calibration is a bit iffy due to monitor ages and I'm one of the 15% or so males that are "color weak", plus as I grow older my eyes grow worse, so contrasts are always a key, as well as font size (I like the size you use, for instance: easy for me to read!).
Anyway, hope that helps. I typically try to imagine my work going onto a 800x600 or so resolution, "postage stamp" monitor and downsize my images accordingly (which I hate doing; it mucks up the detail). For instance, the "Swamp Footbridge" I put in the "aged" thing was over 8000 pixels wide -- folks would've had to scroll forever to see the all of it, and it messes up "that" page of your journal, LOL -- dealt with your issue before -- so it's, what? 630 pixels wide to allow for sidebar and for the folks who 'float' their windows (not maximized) on the screen the way I do, it allows a little to access the desktop icons.
Hope this helps with your formatting decision; graphics are always tricky to judge when you are shooting for cross-platform good looks and functionality.

HI Marie, Your banners and photos have a wonderful quality on my Windows Vista program. I have a Laptop with a 17" wide screen and a docking station with a 25" wide screen, everything on your journal is perfect. Altough in my puter your fonts appear to be size 14. Much easier on theyes than size 10 or 12.
If you'd like your sidebar wider use the "Custom" feature on the Journal editing page. I've changed my journal colors to have a dark blue background, but you can set it for white. By using this feature you can add larger size graphics to your sidebar and change your fonts.
