I think the only way I can "loose" my camera or memory card is if I had it tied up somewhere and it and someone untied it and stole it. That would be a lost.
I often lose things but never a camera.
Sorry a pet peeve of mine. Bill

I saw this last week on another photo-blog, the name of which escapes me.  I haven't lost a camera since my trip to Spain in 1965 after a few complimentary adult beverages.  It was a Kodak 104 Instamatic.  But I went on to win the ship's photo contest because I had removed the film first.  I bought an 8 GB card last Sunday in preparation for the Memorial Day festivities.  When I left the store, there was some suspicious activity in the parking lot, so I cut through the bullet-proof packaging and swapped out the card.  I put the old one in the snap case and put it in my pocket.  ( Or so I thought. )  When I read your post, I remembered that I hadn't seen the card lately and that I was supposed to put it in the safe until I had time to purge it.  I looked everywhere.  It has been a hectic week with plenty of distractions and shifting loads.  The card has liberated itself along with some 300+ images.  As far as I know, all images had been saved in the hard drive, but I still feel stupid for not paying attention.  I keep two USB flash drives on a lanyard around my neck because they are so easy to misplace.  ( Been there, done that )  I never thought anybody could lose an SD card, especially me.  Coulda been worse, I guess.

I had a camera stolen years ago but when you don't have it lost or stolen, it stinks! and a lost SD card would drive me nuts too.

You deleted your article about your new camera.I didn't know any of that when I got My Canon S5IS aparently it isn't a high end camera because it comes with it's own editing program.I'd love to have the CS3 but who has those big of bucks...
Maybe you can take the camera back and exchange it for one that doesn't call for you to go into hock for something that costs that much.

Addition to Comment #2.  Whoo hoo, I found my card!  The cat had liberated it from the computer table where I empty my pockets.  I didn't THINK I had become that absent minded.  It was a good warning to pay better attention to what I'm doing and where I put things.
